Under Medicare guidelines:

• Care must be intermittent (part-time), medically necessary and ordered/approved by your physician;
• The patient must be essentially homebound--meaning trips away from home must be infrequent or of short duration. Because it has been proven that your spiritual well bing is important in your overall health status, Medicare recently approved leaving home for religious services.
• The patient's condition requires a skilled need.
